Butterfly Breeders to Meet in Fort Lauderdale, Florida November 3 - 5, 
2006.

"Unconventional" convention brings together professional butterfly 
breeders
from around the world.

Fort Lauderdale, FL, September 26, 2006:  The International Butterfly
Breeders Association (IBBA) annual convention will be held at the Clarion 
Lauderdale 
Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from November 3rd through the 
5th, 
2006. 

Commercial butterfly breeders, farmers, and exhibitors from across the US
and other parts of the world will gather to hear industry experts speak on 
breeding quality 
butterflies, disease prevention, marketing, public relations, advertising, 

business development; and other educational topics of interest to the
butterfly breeding business community. There will be opportunities for 
networking and 
viewing butterfly merchandise and related business equipment. 

Both amateur and professional butterfly breeders and exhibitors are 
welcome
to attend as well as anyone interested in the possibilities the butterfly 
and
moth breeding industry offers.

The keynote speaker at the Friday evening opening event will be Dr. Wayne 
Wehling, Senior Entomologist for USDA APHIS. Noted author, educator, and 
butterfly expert Rick Mikula will serve as the convention master of
ceremonies.

In addition to the workshops, panel discussions, presentations planned for
the formal convention, nonprofessionals will have an opportunity to attend 
a 
special pre-convention IBBA seminar designed for beginning butterfly
breeders. The seminar is scheduled for 1-5 PM on Thursday, November 2, the 
day before
the formal convention opening.

The IBBA is an international, nonprofit, membership-based trade 
association
promoting high standards of ethics, competence and professionalism in the 
breeding of quality Lepidoptera for all purposes. IBBA members and their 
businesses breed and provide live butterflies and moths for educational 
and 
research purposes, butterfly houses and exhibitions, and for live release 
at
weddings and other special events.
