Thank you to everybody who voted for the bumble bee in Endangered Species
Chocolate's "Vote New Faces for New Flavors" campaign in response to the
emails I posted over the last two weeks. The excellent news is that the
bumble bee was one of the two winners and will be featured on a chocolate
bar! The Xerces Society will also be receiving a $1,000 donation from
Endangered Species Chocolate. This is a fantastic outcome and was only
possible because of a huge outpouring of support. In the end, the bumble bee
got well over 18,000 votes. Wow!

Thank you, too, to Endangered Species Chocolate for including the bumble bee
and Xerces in this campaign. Six animals were in the candidates list: bumble
bee, orangutan, red panda, monk seal, peacock, and wallaby. Each of these
were equally deserving of votes, but only two could be winners.
Congratulations to the Marine Mammal Center, whose monk seal was the other
champion and will also be appearing on a chocolate bar.

Matthew
