Hi everyone,

NB. I'm posting this on behalf of my coworker Kevin Burls. If you have any
questions, please contact him at kevin.burls at xerces.org

We're excited to announce a brand new student research award managed by the
Xerces Society that is now open for applications, the Deborah BanDrosky
Award <http://www.xerces.org/bandrosky>. While many of you have heard of
our DeWind Award <http://www.xerces.org/dewind> for students working on the
conservation of Lepidoptera, this new award will be *for students in higher
education who are studying conservation of any invertebrate taxon or group
that is in need of conservation*!

Award amounts are determined annually; in 2026 there will be two awards of
$5,000 each as well as two honorable mention awards. We are currently
accepting applications for this new award through *January 7, 2026.* Full
application instructions are available at the website,
www.xerces.org/bandrosky.

As with the DeWind Award, the BanDrosky Award is available to both
undergraduate and graduate students. Awards will be given to applications
whose proposed research highlights species known to need conservation, is
directly relevant to the species’ conservation, and is scientifically
rigorous.

Please share the notice below for both awards widely with your contacts.

With all the ongoing research on invertebrate conservation we expect to
have a wide range of applications and this is a great chance to support
some of this amazing work!
