Dear Pollinator Researchers,

We are a group of ecologists working on a perspective piece about the ways in which research on pollinators is framed, designed, and conducted, and the consequences of these choices for pollinator conservation. As part of this project, we invite you to complete a brief survey<https://baruch.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_egkFBwIYk4R1eOW> to help us understand the motivations, current research foci, and conservation priorities of pollinator researchers in North America.

Survey link: https://baruch.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_egkFBwIYk4R1eOW

If you choose to participate, you will be asked nine questions, out of which three are multiple choice and the remaining short answer. We expect the survey to take less than ten minutes. In addition to informing our work, we hope this survey may give you the opportunity to reflect on the motivations for your research. Your participation in the study is completely voluntary and you may choose to stop participating at any time. Your decision not to volunteer, to stop participating, or to refuse to answer particular questions will not influence the nature of your relationship with the researchers or their institutions either now, or in the future.

Please forward this message to your lab group and colleagues who are actively conducting research in North America. We encourage anyone who self-identifies as a pollinator researcher, regardless of career stage, to participate.

If you have questions about the research in general or about your role in the study, please feel free to contact Dr. Gordon Fitch by email (gmfitch at yorku.ca<mailto:gmfitch at yorku.ca>). This research has received ethics review and approval by the Human Participants Review Sub-Committee, York University’s Ethics Review Board and conforms to the standards of the Canadian Tri-Council Research Ethics guidelines. If you have any questions about this process, or about your rights as a participant in the study, please contact the Director, Research Ethics in the Office of Research Ethics, Kaneff Tower, York University (ore at yorku.ca<mailto:ore at yorku.ca>).

Thanks very much!
