[Santa Cruz Celtic Slow Sessions] Celtic Slow Session this Sunday Aug 7 ????

Hi JJ,  Thought I'd take a moment & introduce myself. I've been on the slow sessions list for a while but never made it in person. Just wondering what sort of Celtic repertoire you all play? Do you focus on the sort of jam session standard fiddle tunes (well known jigs, reels, hornpipes, & so on), or does your group also explore other Celtic musical traditions from Scotland, Brittany, Shetland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Galicia, Cornwall, Cape Breton & so on? Also, do you tend to lean towards playing the usually spritely tunes (reels, jigs, etc) more moderately, or do you focus on playing the slower genres, like waltzes, mazurkas, & airs? Or, all of the above?  Just wondering because I'm learning the button box accordion. On this, I'm comfortable playing at a slow to moderate tempo, depending on how long I've been working on a tune. Have also been playing hammered dulcimer & mountain dulcimer for the past 40 plus years, & can play these comfortably in a fast Irish session (like at Rosie McCann's in Santa Cruz or the ones sometimes hosted by Michael Long). But I also enjoy playing reels & jigs at a more leisurely tempo & really savoring them instead of just tearing through them.  Anyway, just thought I'd like to touch base. Probably won't be able to come & play for a while because I recently developed some tendonitis in my right wrist & am taking a break from playing everything but hammered dulcimer because it alone doesn't seem to irritate my achey wrist. Also, been attending Zoom sessions because these don't require me to lift, load & schlep instruments which may tweak my achey wrist.
